Executed above 11,400’ in elevation, VM West was contracted for the harvest, removal, and mastication clearing of timber within a new lift line corridor and ski runs.
About The Project
Mechanically operating tethered cut-to-length Ponsse harvest and boom-style mastication resources, to cut out brand new ski runs and a lift corridor across a brand-new basin expansion project, VM safely executed operations across 20° – 40° slopes at elevations above 11,400’.
With a keen focus on maintaining a clean and safe footprint for ski operations, VMW employed mastication and aerial removal techniques to manage slash, stumps and full-length timber post-harvest. The use of TimberPro steep slope mulchers ensured that all residual material was adequately processed, supporting the resort’s commitment to safe, quality skiing conditions.
Supervised by Regional Manager Hans Hartman, who combines industry expertise with personal ties to Monarch Mountain, VMW delivered timely results that aligned with the resort’s operational objectives. This successful collaboration not only reinforced VMW’s reputation as a trusted partner in sustainable forest management but also laid the groundwork for future projects at Monarch Mountain.
