Utility Line Vegetation Management

The VMWest forestry team first assesses the current vegetative condition of a customer’s line. We then present our span-by-span analysis to our customer in a spreadsheet with pre-treatment photos of every span.

Metrics that are important to our customers typically include: types of vegetation per span, distance of vegetation to conductors, estimated growth rates per year, and estimated cost to treat the span for 1 year, 5 years, or 10+ years estimated re-entry interval.

Following treatment, VMWest will perform post treatment monitoring and present the customer with pre and post treatment photos and a span by span analysis of their desired metrics.

VMWest is capable of patrolling and evaluating remote stretches of transmission line right-of-way, in furtherance of a customer’s stated goals.
