Angel Peak Hole Drilling

About The Project

When the client set out to improve system reliability and strengthen aging infrastructure near Las Vegas, Nevada, they entrusted our crews with one of the most challenging phases: establishing the foundation for new powerline structures in difficult, high-angle terrain. The core of this work involved drilling new pole holes and installing anchors on steep slopes far from established access points. Our drilling crew operated heavy excavators equipped with bucket and hammer attachments, and on the steepest ground utilized advanced tethering systems to secure the machinery and ensure operator safety. A dedicated support team managed fuel, supplies, and logistics across the remote work area, keeping production moving without interruption.
Mid-project, an unexpected hammer failure had the potential to sideline a crew for an entire day due to the long access routes. Demonstrating immediate resourcefulness, our team quickly coordinated with a nearby vegetation management helicopter crew to fly in a replacement attachment, eliminating the downtime and keeping the project on schedule, to meet the clients power pole installation timeline.
Throughout the job, our team adapted seamlessly to shifting scopes and schedules, while maintaining the speed, flexibility, and high-quality work our clients rely on. This performance was directly recognized by NV Energy, who extended our engagement to include support for installing the new powerline poles and lines. We’re proud to contribute to a project that strengthens critical infrastructure for the region and demonstrates our ability to execute complex, remote construction tasks safely and efficiently.
