Utility Vegetation Management

Process

At VM West, we prioritize the safety and reliability of utility corridors through our comprehensive Utility Vegetation Management services. Our seasoned team brings developed skills to tackle technical challenges, ensuring safe operations even with energized utility lines.

Our process begins with a thorough assessment of the current vegetation conditions within the client’s utility corridor. We conduct a detailed span-by-span analysis to identify the most efficient and cost-effective solutions tailored to project needs.

Our team excels in technical climbing at the highest elevations and under the toughest conditions, giving us a competitive edge. We pride ourselves on having some of the broadest resource pools compared to our competitors, which allows us to effectively address complex vegetation management tasks. Furthermore, our certified blasting experts are prepared to handle challenging terrain and vegetation issues safely.

VM West has extensive experience with heli-logging across diverse and challenging landscapes, from the rugged heights of the Rocky Mountains to the scenic beauty of high-profile destinations like Lake Tahoe. Our expertise in heli-logging allows us to efficiently manage timber removal in areas where traditional logging methods are not feasible, ensuring minimal environmental impact and maximizing safety. By leveraging advanced techniques and specialized equipment, we deliver effective solutions that meet the unique challenges posed by these high-elevation locations.

Following treatment, VM West performs post-treatment monitoring and provides a comprehensive report, including before-and-after photos and updated analyses of the utility corridor condition. Additionally, we patrol and evaluate remote stretches of utility corridors, ensuring that our efforts align with client goals and regulatory requirements. Through meticulous planning and monitoring, VM West delivers effective vegetation management solutions that meet right-of-way requirements sustainably.
